EYAA Awards

Ok..... I think it was very obvious that I was VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY

(x 999,999,999) nervous.

For all those who came... do not ever remind me of it ever again... please

There I was, on the stage. And what made it even worst was that I was the first bloody human to give my speech. When Aunty Amy called me up to speak... my heart stopped. At first, my heartbeat was actually very fast. I didn't expect to be the first one to speak. So, anyways, when she called me up... I walked up to the mike. And what else... it was the wrong one. I went to the next one. And said, "Helloo...”. I didn't hear anything... Full of embarrassment, I switched it on. With my hands shaking, I opened up my paper speech. I started. Trying to look up as much as I could, but I kept making mistakes. I skipped a few lines to get it over with as fast as I could. Made a few more mistakes. Hating myself for it. Quickly finished and ran into hiding
.

The audience laughed at some parts of my speech.

I was really fidgety when I sat down.... Screaming in my head. For those who heard the speech, here's what I was supposed to say:-

Heloo!

Why are we here today? Why? Do you know why? We are here today to celebrate the accomplishments of our goals.

I have learnt how to teach children how to paint T-shirts, I have played badminton, I have stayed up all night to help fight cancer, gone house to house collecting donations for the NCSM, I have took care of four of the cutest puppies and I have climbed up a hill for six hours straight with my friends. I think that these are the things you should do when you’re an adolescent. If you don’t do these things, it’s like living without having your daily meal or fruits without its vitamins!

All those things I’ve done are wonderful, but that’s not what I want to talk about today. I want to talk about the planning I needed.

Would you go somewhere without planning? I don’t think so. What you should do is sit down in an empty room and write down what you need to do. Do some brainstorming. Maybe you could plan for a holiday, an event, your day, chores or weekly errands.

Planning helped me in many ways. When I was teaching children how to paint t-shirts, I had to sit down and plan everything that I needed, so when the day came, I had everything I needed and it all went smoothly. Before climbing up the hill, everyone had different things to do, like booking the train tickets, booking the bungalow that we would stay in and the how much food we needed. Everything was done and we were ready to climb. When I was taking care of the puppies I was having doubts if I was going to make it through 20 days of them, I had to plan my day in such a way where I had a particular time to feed them, give them their medication, play with them and leave them to sleep. It’s like being a mother to four children!

When I was teaching the children how to paint, I also helped me build up my patience. While they were painting the t-shirts, I became very agitated and wanted to help them on what colour to use and how to paint it the right way. As you know, younger children aren’t as good as adults. So I couldn’t stand to watch them paint untidily. Luckily my mother was there to stop me in case I lost control.

So, again, the reason we are here today is to celebrate our achievements and the things we’ve learnt. Thank you

Dog Training

Yay!! I'm so glad that Lucy has passed the Obedience test at the Malaysian Kennel Association!

Lucy wasn’t really herself on that day but she did well. She almost got me mad actually. She kept tugging me. My hands were soar on the way back. Anyways… I don’t think we are going on to the next level because we want to spend time together with the family in Sundays.
Bye

Help Mother Earth

I believe that there are a lot of changes to be made in our world. Our lifestyle is the most important to me. This world will be gone to dogs by the time our grandchildren’s children are born. We need to start making recycling our everyday life, we need to make sure that our lights and fans aren’t switched on when we are not in the room, we need to keep this earth clean. When I’m putting a paper into the recycling bin, I sometimes feel that “Will I make any difference putting just one piece of paper into the recycling bin?” Of course you will! If everyone thinks that “Ah, this one piece of paper won’t make any difference”, what will happen to Mother Earth. We need to give her some respect, after all she’s given us, helping our trees, plants and vegetables grow beautifully. We should at least keep it clean.

We shouldn’t feel helpless because there is so many people around us. We just have to make them realize what’s going on around them. People are even building houses near a rubbish dump and the dump is as big as a hill and they are even growing grass in the hill. Be aware in what’s going on around you. Walk to the shop nearby if you have to, become vegetarian if you have to, hell, you could even grow your own vegetables.

TSoRy

I wrote this long ago. Its a kids story so don't bother if you think its stupid alright? (there might be some spelling mistakes too.)

There were once two bad boys called Tom and Jim. They were not truthful and they were not honest-in fact. They stole apples from outside shops, and once Tom had taken a full milk-bottle from a doorstep!

This was really dreadful. The apples were green and gave them both a pain, and Tom fell with the milk-bottle, broke it, and cut his hand. So they didn’t get any good out of their stealing; but how sad their mothers were to know they had children like that.

“Nobody gets happiness out of badness,” said Tom’s mother as she bandaged his hand.

Tom didn’t believe her- but when he found that the Sunday school party was to be held on Saturday and that he and Jim were not invited, he began to wish he hadn’t been so bad.

He grumbled about it to Jim. “What about creeping in before the party begins? We could easily do that. We could creep in at the window.”

Jim was a very bad boy as you can see. Tom nodded his head. “All right,” he said. “We will. Let’s go and peep in at the window on Friday and see what sort of toys are there.”

So on Friday they peeped on at the window. They saw Miss Brown and Mrs Jones arranging everything ready for the next day. They saw dishes of sweets and oranges put out. There were no cakes or buns yet, because they would be made the next day. They saw the big balloons being blown up, and watched the balloon-pigs being stood all down the table for the children.

There was a big table for the toys too! My goodness, what lovely toys! There were three big humming-tops, a train that could whistle, a doll that could say “Ma-ma, Pa-pa” some tiny motor-car with little hooters, a bear that growled, a monkey that squeaked-oh, more toys than Tom and Jim could count.

They watched until Mrs Jones and Miss Brown put the lights out and went home. Then the boys spoke to one another.

We’ll come tomorrow, when the windows will be opened to air the room- and we’ll take the oranges, sweets, balloons, crackers and the toys!

They slipped away thinking nobody had heard them. They knew Tom and Jim all right! Everybody knew about those two bad boys.

“Did you hear what they said?!” cried the bear in excitement. “We won’t let them steal up! We’ll give him such a fright they won’t ever steal again!”

So when the next night came, and the two naughty boys crept in at an open window, the toys were ready. The monkey had taken three of the balloon-pigs from the table, he and the doll pulled the little corks from the pigs’ mouths as soon as the boys came in.

You know what noise a balloon-pig makes when the air goes out of him, don’t you? “Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” They all said in their mounfull voices. “Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

Tom and Jim stood still in fright. Whatever was that?! The pigs stopped making the noise and fell over, quite flat. Then the teddy bear pressed himself in the middle.

“Grrrrrrrrrr!” he said. “Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”

“Ooooh!” cried Tom and Jim. “Is it a dog growling?”

“Grrrrrrrr!” growled the bear again, quite enjoying himself. Then the little monkey and the other toys took the three humming tops and set them spinning madly on the floor. They hummed like enormous bees. “Buzzzzz! Zooooom!” they went. Tom tried to run away, but he fell over a mat that caught his foot. Thud!

“OW!” cried Tom, “Something’s cough me! What’s making that noise? Are we in a beehive? I wish I could see, but the room is all dark!”

The monkey took the brooch off his coat and burst a balloon. BANG!

“I’m shot!” groaned Tom.

“So am I!” cried Jim. “Somebody’s shot us. Didn’t you hear the bang?!”

They lay there groaning, thinking they were shot, till the door opened and in trooped the children who had been invited to the party!

They shooed Tom and Jim out, laughing at them at the same time and banged the door behind them. Tom and Jim began to cry. How they wished they could join the happy children in the room, with all the balloons and toys.

“It’s our own fault,” said Tom, wiping his eyes. “Mum says nobody gets any happiness out of being bad. I’m going to be good for a change. I’ve had a real fright tonight, and I’m going home to find out where I’ve been shot.”

Well, he won’t find out where he’s shot, and neither will Jim- but the toys have done a good deed because they have stopped those two boys from being bad. The monkey still laughs when he remembers all that happened that evening.
